Dental Radiology – DENTASCAN
Ars Medica, located in the heart of North Rome, offers cutting-edge dental radiology tools, including the DENTASCAN CONE BEAM.
This advanced scanning technique combines high resolution with significantly reduced radiation exposure (about 8-10 times lower than spiral CT scans). Additionally, it features a reduced field to protect the lens and thyroid gland.
The device’s design ensures easy access for wheelchair users and pediatric patients.
The three-dimensional (3D) technique is highly beneficial in various areas:
- Implantology: For planning minimally invasive implant procedures, assessing prosthetic and surgical conditions, and more.
- Endodontics: For identifying finer structures to detect root fractures, representing internal and external root resorptions in dentoalveolar trauma, preoperative diagnostics for periapical bone lesions, and preoperative endodontic planning.
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: For evaluating displaced teeth, diagnosing fractures, detecting root remnants, performing orthognathic surgery, and diagnosing paranasal sinus and temporomandibular joint disorders.
- Orthodontics: For assessing impacted teeth, displaced teeth, and labiopalatoschisis.
- General Dentistry: For detecting apical radiolucencies, assessing periodontal conditions, and minor oral surgery procedures. The examination results are provided in digital format.
Dental Radiology Benefits:
- Early Diagnosis: Enables early detection of dental issues, allowing for timely intervention and reducing the risk of complications. Radiographic images can reveal cavities, infections, cysts, tumors, and other anomalies that may not be visible to the naked eye.
- Surgical Planning: Provides essential information for planning complex surgical procedures, such as wisdom tooth extractions or dental implant placements. With DENTASCAN, dental professionals gain detailed insights into dental anatomy and surrounding bone structures, enabling highly personalized and minimally invasive treatments.
